DO YOU KNOW HOW TO GET TO HEAVEN?
The fact is that God DOES want us to know how to get to Heaven!
The Bible gives us this assurance: “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God: that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life.” I John 5:13
There are 4 things you need to know:
1. REALIZE THAT YOU HAVE SINNED AGAINST GOD.
“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
Sin is not just murder or armed robbery, it is anything contrary to the nature of God. The Bible reveals that God is holy, and cannot tolerate sin in His presence. Therefore, all sin is primarily against God. Psalm 51:4
2. UNDERSTAND GOD’S PENALTY FOR YOUR SINS.
“For the wages of sin is death;” Romans 6:23a
Wages are what we earn. Since we are sinners, we have earned an eternity of death and hell. This means eternal separation from God. We are sinful and cannot save ourselves.
3. ACKNOWLEDGE GOD’S PAYMENT FOR YOUR SINS
“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
God loved you so much, that He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross in your place. He paid the complete penalty for your sin.
4. TAKE GOD AT HIS WORD AND TRUST CHRIST AS YOUR SAVIOR.
“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly his faith is counted for righteousness.” Romans 4:5
The term “faith” simply means to trust. You must trust Jesus and Him alone for your soul’s salvation. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Regardless of what you have done in the past, the word “whosoever” means anyone; it means YOU! If you will pray and receive Christ as your personal Savior, He will give you the gift of eternal life.
Doesn’t it make sense to believe the One who came back from the dead and trust Him for the payment of your sin? Why not do it now and you can be sure of going to heaven when you die. He loves you. Right now, why not accept the payment He has made for your sins and you can KNOW you have eternal life.

You can use this prayer to express your decision to God.
“Dear God, I admit that I am a sinner and I understand that my sin separates me from you. I believe that Jesus, being God, paid the full penalty for all my sins when He died on the cross and rose from the dead. I want to place my trust in Him alone as my Savior. Thank you for loving and forgiving me and giving to me the gift of eternal life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
For those who have made the decision to trust Jesus Christ.
If you have made the decision to receive Christ and His payment for your sins and you have trusted Him alone for your salvation, then you have become a child of God through faith in Christ (John 1:12, I John 5:11-13).
Here are some things that will help you get to know Christ better and grow in your relationship with Him.
** Reading and studying God’s word, the Bible (I Peter 1:23-2:3).
** Speaking to God in prayer (Proverbs 15:8, Philippians 4:6-7).
** The friendship and encouragement of other believers ( I Thessalonians 5:11) in a church where the Bible is honored and taught (Hebrews 10:25).
** Telling others about Christ (Matthew 28:19, Acts 1:8).
